TUBA, Benguet -- Police are investigating if three women found dead along Kennon Road in Barangay Bangar in Rosario town in La Union if they were drug suspects. Chief Insp. Bernabe Oribello, Rosario police chief, said a resident discovered the bodies at around 10 a.m.
The faces of two of the victims were wrapped in packing tape like most drug suspects slain by suspected vigilantes.
Oribello said the victims could have been killed somewhere else.
Meanwhile, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested several “high-value” drug pushers in stings in Luzon in the past two days.
Among those nabbed was Eduardo Cabanban Jr., councilor of Barangay Sto. Rosario in San Juan town in La Union.
A raid on Cabanban’s house yielded sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and equipment used to repack shabu, PDEA agents said.
In Bulacan, Eduardo Gregorio Jr., 30, alias Astig, was arrested in a sting in Barangay Lumang Bayan in Plaridel.
At least 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P240,000 and marked money were recovered from Gregorio, said Juvenal Azurin, PDEA-Central Luzon director. – Jun Elias and Raymund Catindig
